I can't be bothered to go over the details of the government's 'package' (lots of 'packages' at the moment as well of course), but suffice to say that they hope these 'measures' (lots of them also) will help the industry by amongst other things encouraging people to start buying new cars again.
Well I say to the car industry and the government: BOLLOCKS!!
I'm sorry but that's how I feel.
If I want to buy a new car then I'll buy a new car because I want to buy a new car, not to help the car industry (what have they ever done for me) or the government (ditto).
And if I want to keep my money in my arse pocket so to speak then that's exactly what I'll do.
Too much spending on crappy goods that we neither want nor need and cannot afford has got us into this mess in the first place and this ridiculous government of ours think amazingly that the self same thing will somehow get us out of this mess.
So with apologies to any car industry workers out there I'm not going to buy a new car and I am going to keep my money in my arse pocket. So there.
PS: and if Brown and co try to persuade me to buy other goods I don't really want just to 'kick start' (there's another) the economy then whatever it is that they're flogging they can bugger off too!

Precisely - what's the bloody car industry ever done for me?
Who needs a car industry anyway, when cars have started to mate on their own? (Your pic is a bit risqué, if I may say so.)

I thought the same, and I'm glad someone else mentioned it first. JPT, I'm afraid I'll have to report you to the ratings board.
