Temperatures Set to 'Plummet'!

'Temperatures set to plummet to -3c' says the headline in The Mail online.

What?! -3c!!!! It's December - it's supposed to be freezing. This is not news. Whenever we have anything like normal winter weather nowadays we get pathetic sensationalist headlines like this.

For your information, in my neck of the woods (Wales) the lows for previous December's (recorded by myself) are as follows:

2007 -5.3

2006 -4.2

2005 -8.5

2004 -6.3

2003 -5.1

2002 -2.4

2001 -7.0

2000 -10.0

1999 -9.9

1986 -3.0

1985 -10.0

1984 -2.9

The record low for Wales (it was a January) is -23.3.

So as you can see -3.0 is NOT exactly 'plummeting' and the media know that.

What's going on with them?

Amir Khan's Connections

Last night in Manchester Amir Khan won a version of the World light welterweight title (WBA) by beating Ukranian Andriy Kotelnik on points.

Now I'm not going to knock Khan (I'm not going to mention the fact that when he was ko'd in one round by Breidis Prescott last year he said that some members of the crowd booed him because they were jealous 'I earn more in a few fights than they earn in their entire lives'), I'm not going to mention that - whoops!

Anyhow, my point is really all about the aforementioned Prescott.

As I have mentioned he ko'd Khan last year. And of course last night Khan won the WBA title (against a non puncher, Khan has been VERY carefully matched not facing any puncher other than Prescott) but on Friday night Prescott lost a split decision in Las Vegas on a nothing sort of bill to one Miguel Vazquez.

It's all about connections, Khan the darling of the British multicult media has them, Prescott hasn't.

If, for some reason you think my gripe is based on some sort of racist agenda against Khan you're wrong. I liked him when he turned pro and thought his naivety was quite engaging but has been replaced by a kind of arrogance.

Also on the race thing, one of my all time great sporting heroes is American boxer Marvin Hagler - who of course is black.

Also Prescott is Colombian...

The White Barack Obama

FACTS:

Barack Obama is of mixed race (not black).

He was raised by his white mother (his black father being 'absent' after Obama reached two years old).

He only met his black father once after the age of two.

His black father died a lonely destitute drunk (in a road accident).

His white mothers heritage was mainly English with some Irish, Dutch, French, Welsh, Swiss and German - totally European.

His white grandparents played a huge role in his upbringing.

All we hear about is the black Obama, but the white side of his life has surely shaped him more - it was his white mother and grandparents who brought him up - he had nothing to do with the black side of his family during childhood.

He seems to be disowning his white roots, why?

The media lackeys around him are also ignoring his white roots, why?

Is white something to be ashamed of now?

Are the English and Irish, Welsh and Germans, Swiss, Dutch and French cheering in the streets today because one of 'their own' has been elected to the White House (or should it be the Black House now?)?

Is the white race becoming something to be ridden roughshod over - an irrelevance, a nuisance, something that is getting in the way of this brave new world?

This is a very dangerous game that they are playing.

Boxing Day Sales Rush Boom Frenzy

The media reported in the build up to Christmas that there was going to be a Boxing Day sales rush boom frenzy.

And then they duly reported today that there indeed had been a Boxing Day sales rush boom frenzy.

So it must be right then.

I went shopping on Boxing day (in Shrewsbury) and did not personally see a sales rush boom frenzy.

It was quite busy, but no more than that.

The media will now report that the sales figures were through the roof for Boxing Day whether they were or not.

A self fulfilling prophecy or just more media bullshit?

Bit of both perhaps.

We'll hear of how this sales rush boom frenzy 'defied' the credit crunch.

Don't you believe it.
