I`m not so sure he wasnt black. After all,he did live in the woods and spend much of his time hiding in the trees.
Indeed, I have written about it too. It is a deliberate attempt at indoctrination of the young.
According to the BBC maid Marion was Asian.
The most hilarious case of rewritten history I have seen was the Black WW2 RAF pilot on the postage stamps.
