What a load of rubbish. Do you not think that, just perhaps, the man in question was deeply, nay profoundly, disturbed and that the vast majority of people who have found themselves in the same position - which, as you suggest, is rather a lot - do not proceed to murder their entire families?

I'm not defending the man who sounded like an arsehole BUT many respected commentators believe(even this week the government have hinted at this) that divorce nowadays has become something that is taken up too lightly (marriage also if you ask me).
As for the gun law point you make, this sort of thing happens a LOT without guns - car fumes, hotel balconies etc etc...

The point being, no bad relationship should end in the killing of anyone, husband, wife, or kids.
I'd rather prefer divorce laws that allow loons to go their separate ways...of course...to have bad relationships with someone else.

I'm afraid I'm still not convinced by your contention that simplified divorce procedures encourages adultery and domestic violence. That such stories are so rare - and thus considered newsworthy - does seem to suggest that such a view is overly simplistic, if indeed it is valid at all.
And as a committed small-government right winger shouldn't you be all for 'individualism'? Or are you advocating some sort of government control?

It sounds to me that deaths from gunshot wounds have more to do with the ready availability of guns then anything else. Call it simplistic, but then that's what is is; it's rather obvious that the fewer people have access to guns, the fewer people will get shot. Why is it this 'gun control' debate only seems to get aired in relation to the United States - a country with a far higher murder rate than the one I live in - and why isn't there the total anarchy that you describe omnipresent in those states that do have those legal restrictions - which you deride - in place?

We have been at the core of a sixty year social experiment brought to us by commies dressed as liberals, and it is nowe blowing up in their face.
